Higher Order

Canonical Definition

Higher Order is a form of organization emerging at a higher level of systemic complexity. An order that is natural and functional at one evolutionary stage may continue to operate at the next, while becoming increasingly inadequate to its new complexity. Higher Order describes the emergence of organizational forms capable of structuring that next level.
